Abstract: Eat Your Ear is a contemplation of gender, sex, and the body. Utilizing photography, video, sculptural assemblage, installation, and tediously handmade objects, it is an exploration of correctness, empowering exhibitionism, self-surveillance, and surrender. It is about the futility of never fully knowing yourself and the acceptance of fallibility. This work is about play as a means of learning and developing strategies for mental, physical, and spiritual support and survival.
