Abstract: "Just to Dance" is a dance for five women and three men in six sections. Costumes for the women are long, white, sleeveless halter top dresses made of light weight crepe. The men's costumes are high waisted, white flare slacks, with low V-neck white shirts, having long, full sleeves. The slacks are made of sharkskin, and the shirts of voile. The dance is mostly concerned with flow of movement and with design, using bodies in space. Each section uses space in a different way. Also, in each section, different floor patterns are created. This is achieved partly by use of different numbers of dancers in the various sections. The design aspect involves the illusion created by one dancer, as well as his relation to the group. The dance has a very lyrical, flowing quality, which is reinforced by the music, "The Lady and the Unicorn," by John Renborn.
