Abstract: Educators are constantly striving to increase their knowledge of the intricacies of human development in order to meet the demands of society to educate individuals to their fullest potential. The field of education, like other fields of endeavor, has established certain general objectives which should be accomplished as a result of educating the total man. One of these general objectives is the realization of selfhood. This objective refers to the development of an understanding of the capabilities and potentials with which each individual is vested.
