Abstract: A growing emphasis exists in higher education and corporate America on the importance of interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to resolve conflict in the workforce. As MBA schools across the country seek to prepare students for prominent business careers, the concern is that the general graduate level curriculum does not include the interpersonal education and awareness needed for graduates to succeed. In recognition of these concerns, this research focuses on the relationship of emotional intelligence and conflict management styles within a sample of MBA students at a small, private university. The results indicate significant relationships between emotional intelligence and conflict management styles that is worthy of additional research.
