Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the muscle action potentials present in the biceps brachii, the triceps brachii, the biceps femoris, and the rectus femoris as these muscles were contracted isometrically at 90°, 105°, 120°, 135°, 150°, and 165° of elbow and knee flexion and extension. In addition to these angles the triceps brachii were also investigated at angles of 45°, 60°, and 75°. Lengths of the upper arms and legs were correlated with the angles of maximum amounts of muscle action potentials in each muscle. Muscle action potentials were recorded for both the dominant and nondominant sides of the body.
