Abstract: A series of metal acetylacetonates [M(acacn] was characterized electrochemically using cyclic voltammetry and Differential Pulse Voltammetry. The Nicholson and Shain criteria [1, 2] was used to determine the electrochemical reduction mechanisms of these complexes. It was found that the reversibility of the electrochemical reduction is inversely proportional to the Ziegler—Natta catalytic activity of the metal acetylacetonate complex.
