Abstract: Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) remains a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Traditional coagulation tests (TCT) have limitations in diagnosing and managing PPH effectively, prompting interest in viscoelastic testing (VET) for its potential to improve patient outcomes. This study aimed to assess anesthesia providers' knowledge, attitudes, and acceptance of perioperative VET during PPH and develop a practice guideline for its implementation. A mixed-methods research design was employed, including pre/post-intervention surveys to measure the effectiveness of an educational intervention. The study found a significant improvement in participants' knowledge and attitudes towards VET post-intervention, despite lingering concerns about cost and the need for further research. While the proposed VET protocol was not immediately adopted, the study underscores the importance of continued education and advocacy for VET in maternal healthcare. Further research is warranted to address barriers and enhance VET utilization in clinical practice.
