Abstract: This project aims to summarize the effects of depressive screening at independent practice clinic about depression in adults and how to effectively screen for depression to promote early intervention compared to their usual practice. The project aimed to screen adults 18 years or older during wellness visits to determine whether implementation of the Patient Health Questionnaire-2 (PHQ2) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) during wellness visits, compared to usual care can lead to identification and intervention for adult patients with depression in 12 weeks. The evidence supporting the effects of depression and its relationship with the covid-19 pandemic, comorbidities, and screening effectiveness are discussed. This review involves the before and after clinical findings of depressive screening and its effects on depression and early intervention.
