Abstract: Inspired by my experiences living in the radioactive hills of Southern Idaho, this is a collection of stories about the sometimes strange and fabulous ways the natural world and humanity intersect in rural or small-town settings, and how that collision speaks to the interior lives of the characters themselves. In most of these stories something as ordinary as nature itself can become something strange or fantastical. Often the settings or occurrences in the stories bring to the character’s attention their own sense of paralysis or alienation.
