Abstract: The urges we have define us—the fleeting and the persistent, the unspoken and the shouted, the ones we run towards and the ones we run from. This collection explores how family, labor, and addiction affect characters’ search for connection, in our world and in an increasingly technological one. In each story, characters’ must reckon with if and how to enact their urges in a world where it is both easier and harder to do; it all depends on the urge.
