Abstract: The aged are major consumers of prescription medications. Physiological changes and multiple prescription regimens coupled with an increased incidence of chronic disease increases the likelihood of adverse drug reactions. This paper outlines some of the research related to noncompliance of prescription medication and identifies some educational interventions guidelines for health care professionals.
