Abstract: A study of the space and equipment provided for the major activities of fifty-one children who had been in the nursery school of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. The investigation showed that although much excellent material had been provided in the thirty-five homes studied, it was not fully adequate for the development of the child's independence, the challenging of his ability and the maintenance of healthful conditions. It therefore appears that the parent's contact with the parent education program had not proven adequate to develop an understanding of these three major principle of child guidance.
