Abstract: The purpose of this study was to introduce a student portfolio assessment model via staff development activities and to assist secondary vocational teachers in implementing the use of student portfolios in their classrooms. Three objectives were selected for this study: (a) assess effectiveness of staff development activities for secondary vocational teachers related to use of portfolio assessment; (b) describe experiences of vocational teachers and students in the implementation of the portfolio assessment mode; and (c) assess the implementation of student portfolio assessment in terms of student and teacher outcomes in the secondary vocational classroom.
