Abstract: Narcissism is a condition marked by the absence of authenticity. Narcissistic self-deception can become a problem within a culture if citizens fail to achieve maturity within the human community. If narcissism is related to immaturity, lack of authenticity, and the reluctance to accept social responsibility, then it can develop into a very serious cultural problem. The purpose of this research is to assess, describe, analyze and examine the characteristics of narcissism and investigate whether this disorder is detrimental to human growth and development.
