Abstract: As part of a senior research project, we began a year-long study to test interventions designed to make elementary students and teachers more aware of gender equity issues and to give them tools to resolve these situations. After practicing how to recognize gender inequities--and learning ways to resolve such situations--the 5th graders were quick to point out incidents of unfair treatment in their classroom and to offer possible solutions.
