Abstract: Through different voices and points-of-view, these five interlinked short stories explore the opiate epidemic in southwestern Ohio and the long-reaching effects of addiction, poverty, and systematic persecution. The characters struggle to find meaning and hope in a world that disregards them. This is an excerpt from a longer project.
