Abstract: The following thesis is a collection of five short stories entitled Christ Haunted. The title is in reference to Flannery O’Connor’s remark that “while the South is hardly Christ-centered, it is most certainly Christ-haunted.” The stories, to varying degrees, incorporate themes of Southern identity and, usually, religion.
