Erin Lawrimore has served as the University Archivist in the Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro since June 2011. She holds a B.A. in English from Duke University and a Masters of Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Information. Prior to her arrival at UNCG, she served as Associate Head and Curator of the Special Collections Research Center at North Carolina State University, and worked in the Special Collections Library at the University of Tennessee. In her current role of University Archivist, she manages acquisitions, processing, reference, and outreach for UNCG’s institutional records of enduring value.
Lawrimore is an active member of the Society of American Archivists, where she has served as co-chair of the Awards Committee, chair of the Description Section, and member of the steering committee of the Issues and Advocacy Roundtable. She was selected as a member of the 2013 cohort for the Archives Leadership Institute. She is also a member of the Society of North Carolina Archivists and the Society of Georgia Archivists, and she acts as managing editor of Provenance: The Journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists. She is the founding editor in chief for Archival Practice, an open access, peer-reviewed journal focused on practical application of archival theory in the modern repository. Additionally, she serves as a lecturer for San Jose State University’s School of Library and Information Science.
