Ramesh Upadhyaya
I have been a nurse for approximately eight years. My background is rehabilitation nursing and emergency nursing. I have attained CRRN status (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse). Prior to my nursing career, I was a medic in the U.S. Army. I have a wife, two children, and a grandchild that I fully support financially and emotionally.
I graduated first in my class from the Associate Degree Program at Sandhills Community College (SCC), receiving both the Super-tutor and the Pinehurst Community Foundation awards. Upon completion of a BSN at UNCG in 2000, I graduated Magna cum Laude, and received the Sigma Theta Tau Gamma Zeta chapter award for Excellence in Nursing. I also received the North Carolina Foundation for Nursing Excellence in Nursing Practice award, and was the first RN-BSN student to graduate from the honors program. From UNCG, I have received outstanding student of color, and outstanding senior awards.
