Michael Ananian
Born and raised in Haverhill, MA, Ananian attended Rhode Island School of Design, BFA 1987 and Yale University, MFA 1990. Before his hire at UNCG in 1994, Ananian taught at Washington University, 1992-1993 and Fontebonne College, 1993-1994. Professor Ananian was granted tenure at UNCG in 2000 with a promotion to Associate Professor. His interests are in painting and drawing, and his areas of expertise includes the figure, life drawing and painting, and narrative. Ananian exhibits widely, having shown in major art centers throughout the United States, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Phildelphia.
