Abstract: The Challenge:Private clubs face many challenges in delivering high levels of service to their members. Aswith any hospitality operation, clubs are detail-intensive and people-intensive. There are manymoving parts, literally thousands of details to be attended to daily by a large and diverse staff.Further, high levels of staff turnover with its attendant training burden are common, as isburnout in the management ranks where long hours, late nights, and frequent weekend andholiday work play havoc with a manager’s personal life. Operating private clubs is not an inexpensive proposition. In serving the elite members of their communities, private clubs must maintain and clean their facilities to the highest standards.
