Abstract: This study of Thoughtfully Adaptive Teaching (TAT) was a replication of earlier research; variations explored the association of middle grade level TAT with reading comprehension with purposefully sampled Board Certified (BC) and non-BC teachers. It utilized data collected through observations of, and interviews with four language arts teachers and pre- and post-observation student measures. Findings demonstrate no association between BC teachers and TAT. There may be a possible association between TAT and reading comprehension growth, warranting further study. Advances in methodology and greater insight into sampling also resulted.
