Abstract: "The Concept Statement is a statement where the designer's ideas about what the play is about are formed into a concept. This concept drives the whole design process and dictates what character distinctions there are in the designer's mind. This includes how color, texture, and silhouette manipulate the audience's subconscious into grouping the characters and their intent....The Final Design Presentation is a culmination of all design meetings, collaboration with the design team and the director, and research in one document. This design meeting presentation shows off the final costume designs for each character in the show, as well as a brief concept statement and some research imagery. This combined with the official concept statement is the costuming direction for UNCG's production of Marisol by Jose Rivera."
