Abstract: Academic Librarians, especially those tasked with assessment, are often involved in preparing reports and supporting documentation for their institutions’ accreditation processes. Accrediting agencies require evidence to show that the library supports the institution’s curriculum, programs, and research. Documentation is needed to demonstrate the adequacy of collections, services, facilities, and information literacy instruction, as well as the qualifications of librarians and staff. Assessment data can be very beneficial when building a case for compliance with accrediting standards and for demonstrating how data are used to improve library resources, programs, and services.
