Abstract: The ocean is a fascinating, three-dimensional environment that contains diverse organisms and unique interactions. It is also a common source of inspiration for aesthetics. Unfortunately, marine ecosystems have been negatively impacted by human activities. Art can be a powerful tool for communication, especially when being utilized to translate scientific ideas. The body of work presented in this paper represents the use of clay as a medium for communicating the beauty of the ocean and the need for marine conservation.
