Abstract: Healthy Pals research group was established with the mission to address key health concerns in Greenville, North Carolina. The group sought to identify causes for diminished health experiences in the local community and ideate a means by which these circumstances might be improved. Through investigation of this multi-faceted issue and collaboration with key community partners, potential for enhanced health equity through civic engagement and interventional programming was realized. Therefore, the Healthy Pals group developed a nutritional education curriculum designed for elementary-aged children and implemented the program at the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain in Pitt county, North Carolina.
