Abstract: During the past several decades, globalization hasblurred the borders among cultures, to someextent. The development of computers and the Internethas accelerated the collapse of cultural boundariesand changed the way people experience cultures; thus,defining one"s cultural identity is now a more complicatedprocess. These changes imply that approachingthe concept of cultural identity in the new artisticpractice of digital art cannot be based only on a traditionalunderstanding of what culture means in societyand how it interacts with art.
