Abstract: The purpose of this project was to increase awareness of the Early Check study through the dissemination of information. Health educators were identified as a group that has the ability to further educate pre- and post-natal mothers. There were several strategies used to engage health educators and stakeholders in Pitt County and surrounding counties. Formal and informal education sessions proved to be a viable method for dissemination of information. However, engaging a large group of health educators was unsuccessful. Dissemination of information is a complex science that has no specific guidelines. Further is needed to better understand how to engage groups for successful dissemination of population health information.
