Abstract: The play Scars by Steven J. Brown tells the story of a successful businessman , Charles Gordon. Charles is living the American dream in the Big City of New York. His life comes crashing down on him when discovery of his unfaithfulness to his wife , for over two years , is revealed. Charles is unable to cope with losing his wife and daughter through a difficult divorce , so he seeks the help of an old college classmate and friend. A friend who so happens to be major drug dealer and pimp. As a result , he ends up losing everything he owns and loves including his very soul. It takes the love of God and the help of his family to bring Charles back to a place of redemption.
