Abstract: Librarians paraprofessionals and student workers employed in the urriculum materials center (CMC) require specialized skills to assist reservice and in-service teachers and faculty. As technology continues o drive changes in services CMC staffing plays a vital role in delivering ew technology-driven services while maintaining traditional ones. his chapter discusses the development of a CMC staff whose members ossess unique skills necessary to deliver services successfully based upon he following factors: determining staffing needs reviewing existing staffing atterns creating new job descriptions and competencies for future ervices developing a long-range staffing plan hiring technology- and eam-driven staff retaining staff utilizing performance evaluation as an ffective staffing tool and valuing the CMC staff.
