Abstract: Recent advances in microcomputer technology have created many tools for image processing and analysis that are useful for paleontologic studies. Although the Journal of Paleontology is not the appropriate forum for reviews of products from the rapidly changing field of computer technologies, a brief introduction to techniques presently available for image processing and analysis, and their potential applications to the field, may be of value to paleontologists.
