Charles C. Bolton
Education: Ph.D., Duke University, 1989; M.A., Duke University, 1986; B.S., University of Southern Mississippi, 1982. Teaching Experience: Professor, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, 2005- ; Professor, University of Southern Mississippi, 2000-2005; Associate Professor, University of Southern Mississippi, 1994-2000; Assistant Professor, University of Southern Mississippi, 1990-1994. My research interests are in the history of the U.S. South. I have done work on both the nineteenth and twentieth century, and I am especially interested in the use of oral history to document the history of the region. My previous major projects have focused on poor whites in the antebellum South and school integration in Mississippi, and a biography of former Mississippi governor William F. Winter.
