Abstract: Adolescent sex offenders increasingly are involved in the mental health delivery system. Because researchers have concluded that between 34 and 60 percent of all sexual offenses are perpetrated by adolescents, it is imperative that mental health counselors possess the knowledge and skills to appropriately identify and treat these adolescents. The authors provide information on current assessment and intervention considerations in working with this population.
