Abstract: Diabetes is a serious condition that has profound effects on the body. More specifically, diabetes can cause significant damage to the eye. Some of this damage can include retinopathy, macular edema, cataracts, glaucoma and even blindness. Although the effects of diabetes of the eye can be quite sever, if caught early enough, the disease can be managed and treated.
