Abstract: The purpose of this Chancellor's Scholars Project are: 1) to develop a protocol for the production of monoclonal antibodies using hollow fiber cells; 2) to give the reader a working knowledge of the antibody, and more specifically, the monoclonal antibody; 3) to examine the monoclonal antibody, and the different techniques employed for their production; 4) to highlight the purification and identification processes (chromatography and gel electrophoresis); and 5) to highlight their importance in biotechnological and chemical research and in clinical work.
