Abstract: Keeping in contact with our friends and family members, which is vital for relationship maintenance, has never been easier. We can telephone, text, e-mail, instant message, comment on their Facebook wall or blog, and so forth. We know who is calling us and we can monitor the locations of those with whom we have network ties and their activities based upon their status updates on social networking sites (SNSs) and Twitter. The range of ways that we can communicate and maintain contact with our social ties has never been greater.
