Mark R. Schulz

My major research interests are the determinants of physical activity particularly bicycling in populations, bicycling injuries, occupational and environmental health and sports injuries. The bicycle-related research is an area I am trying to develop. My interest in occupational health is informed by ten years of work in the 1980s and 1990s with non-profit organizations advocating for improved workplace health conditions in Wisconsin and North Carolina. Since then I have been involved in research documenting racial and ethnic disparities in work-related cancers and risk assessment research comparing cancer risks estimated from epidemiologic studies with risks estimated from animal bioassays. My CV contains a complete list of my publications from my research in these areas. I teach epidemiology and environmental health to both MPH students and undergraduates.
