She brings both quantitative and qualitative methods to bear on a variety of research questions that relate to these interests. Recent and in progress projects focus on understanding *ways in which parenting styles versus practices emerge based on characteristics and experiences of parents and in turn are related to indicators of child well-being. *ways in which parents develop and enforce rules related to adolescents’ use of social technologies (cell phones, social networking sites). *how parent-child relationships change as adolescents transition to college, as well as ways in which parenting supports success in this transition. *ways in which parents use relationships with other parents as a socialization tool, as well as the benefits of such relationships to children and adolescents.
