Abstract: In 1929, the magazine "College Humor" commissioned Zelda Fitzgerald to write six short stories about the lives of young women in the U.S., with each story evoking a certain archetypal woman. In this paper, the author argues that these short stories showcase Fitzgerald's talent as a writer, reflect the intense social contrast between North and South in the U.S., and provide a narrative for an American woman in the 21st century.
