Abstract: Whether they were from Robeson County, another impacted area, or another state, Hurricane Matthew had an impact on students at UNCP. In the wake of the hurricane, students in the Fall 2016 Cultural Geography course were asked to share where and how the impacts of storm effected them. From circuitous journeys to local flooding, students told their stories through a series of simple maps. The poster will discuss the use of these technologies in the classroom and provide a selection of the experiences students shared.
