Abstract: Slides from a presentation given July 28, 2023 for the Lifelong Information Literacy (LILi) Conference. Information literacy skills are critical for learners at all levels, but sometimes it can be challenging to make connections from theoretical concepts to the practical needs of students, faculty, and other learners. This session will demonstrate an activity that can be used in a variety of learning environments to show information literacy concepts in practice, with focuses on critical citation practices and open access considerations. This activity positions learners as information creators and contributors to the scholarly conversation and asks them to consider ways to make their citation and sharing practices more equitable and inclusive.
