Abstract: The purposes of this study were: (a) to compare the short-term memory abilities of learning disabled and language impaired children with respect to digit sequencing (DS), unrelated words (UW), related syllables (RS), oral directions (OD), details in spoken paragraphs (DSP), and phonemic synthesis (PS); and (b) to examine the relationship between performance on these six tasks for the two individual groups.
