Abstract: The article explores myths and misinformation in the history of women war correspondents. Topics discussed include accurate information about Peggy Hull becoming the first woman to gain military accreditation as a war correspondent, evolution of the process and requirements of military accreditation, and how women journalists, including Inez Robb and Ruth Cowan, sometimes presented themselves to the public.
