Abstract: This dissertation, Unsettling Choreographies, offers a multi-dimensional, critical engagement with different conditions of possibility for choreography in relation to feminist, anticolonial, and queer philosophical inquiries, methodologies, and poetics. Multiple forms of knowledge (film, book, cassette, essays) emerged in response to layers of research, differently exploring a range of entangled relations between discursive, material, structural, pedagogical, affective, and speculative dimensions of bodily knowledge. Alongside the three different chapters that comprise this current text, links to digitized iterations of ( away from certain beginnings ) (book/visual text, 287 pages), pouring out into the adjacent (cassette/sound work, approximately one hour), and pouring out into the adjacent: alongside of, sensation (film, 25:23 minutes), as well as citations, references, and notes specific to each of them, are accessible through a website, unsettlingchoreographies.com.
