Abstract: The United States, reacting to rising prices and supply uncertainties of imported energy, has begun to move aggressively to develop its untapped domestic energy resources. Prior to the Arab oil embargo that began in October of 1973, the general feeling was that the U.S. oil resources were almost limitless. The experiences of the last eight years have taught us differently.
