Abstract: A botanical survey was conducted in the basin of a catastrophically drained lake in Watauga County, North Carolina, to determine its floral composition during the first season following the washout. During the summer of 1978, 33 vascular plants were collected from the lake bed. In addition, the surrounding 10 meter wide strip of land was surveyed for a comparison of species . . . Several plants collected at the lake were beyond their reported ranges.
