Abstract: There are many technological advancements that have impacted and will continue to change the field of Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation. Technology has increased simplification of accounting tasks, provided for more accurate information, improved internal controls, changed accounting costs, affected accounting positions, and increased fraud detection and prevention. This paper will examine the effects on the industry due to accounting software, Cloud Accounting, Blockchain, Robotic Process Automation, and Artificial Intelligence. These are the five latest technologies that have had the greatest impact on accounting. They will continue to change the field as they are developed and implemented further.
