Abstract: Internal Embers is a poetry chapbook made up of 29 poems of varying length. The poems narrate my personal journey of acknowledging unfavorable aspects of my personality and how I deal with these emotions and reactions. Internal Embers highlights how you must be aware of your own actions and how these impact not only yourself, but those around you. The poems show that this process is not linear. This means that there will be setbacks and you cannot fix such deeply ingrained issues within a short amount of time or without effort. Internal Embers was a true exercise in analyzing my own thoughts and actions, which I hope can be relatable or helpful to its readers.
