Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of four political leaders' social media accounts related to coronavirus on pandemic effects and media consumption. Information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Twitter, a governmental entity that is nonpolitical, on coronavirus and recommendations for safe practices, was also examined. The four political leaders chosen for this study were governors in hotspot states during the duration of the pandemic; these leaders provided extensive information on the pandemic and precautions that should be taken via their social media accounts. This study has been designed to give an unbiased look into the impact of political social media, specifically Twitter, on the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.
