Abstract: The concept of Arab unity has ceased to be a matter of dreams for the Arab people and has taken its place in the last few years among the issues and questions of practical politics. Since the early part of the twentieth century, the Arabs have undertaken several attempts toward unity. Nationalism and unity shadowed each other through all the frustrations, failures, and abortive attempts. Nevertheless, since the coming of Gamal Abdel Nasser to the Arab political scene, Arab hopes for unity became brighter than ever.
